What other boats are there? Why not ask the locals at the club?

Agreed, in all probability the types of boats used in Perth (whichever one it is), are those that are best suited to the local conditions and facilities. You need to be more specific about your request. Are you looking for a dinghy? keelboat? day launching, or leaving on a mooring? if so do the moorings dry out? The best people to answer your question is probably the local users. Definately ask questions at the local sailing establishments. Of course you need to choose to suit your own level of competence (and budget) as well. Edited by Andymac |

Yeah why not go and ask some local questions and find out what classes are plentiful in your area, when you have a shortlist of possibles come back here for some advise.

Perth WA. Perth Dinghy Sailing Club sail Cherubs, International 14s and a single hander a bit like a Streaker called a Cutlass I believe. It looks like the place to sail dinghies at that end of the Swan but at the other end is East Fremantle SC which is one of the friendliest and pleasant clubs I've ever visted. The Cherubs all seem to be single string and almost One Design - very different from the UK. All the other clubs on the Swan are keel boat orientated. |
