Last time I went head to head with an Inso co they offered me X.

I've worked in the market in the past for about 10 years and know how it operates.

You, as yopu state, will never get them to pay dealer markup; I'm not interested in that; dealers operate ina  world of their own. 

Much better to present a carefully argued case and they, in my experiece, will see the error of their ways.

 

Edit to add; can you give me the number for CAP, I'll ring them on Monday to check what Subaru said is correct.

SImon i dont have a copy of CAP with me if you can get hold of a dealer the number is printed on the title pge of each guide.  TThey should then be able to pull up a cap figure for the vehicle (mileage adjusted) I'm not trying to argue with you i'm just tying to share my expertise with this.  I have been working in the industry for a long time now, in fact the information in glasses and CAP has a lot to do with the company i work for.  I was also fully FSA a credited with selling motor insurance products etc. Though sadly now  (actually not so sadly) i no longer work in the front end of the industry i have no need for the creditation.  I wish you all the luck getting a replacement car as your Subaru was a little bit special and proably very hard to replace.

Subaru told me yesterday that the car is NOT IN the cap guide as they are specials.  only 500 made and these cars went via Prodrive for enhancement, but still with full Subaru network support.

 

Their advice was that in the past, as the network cannot provide market data(hence why not in CAP), the insurance companies simply negotiate.
