Yer thats right, cause no dinghy sailor has ever triggered a large search.  Lets just say aren't we lucky to have a dedicated bunch of air-sea rescue guys there for us in case something goes wrong!
I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

i think its because dinghies are less risky sailing that distance than a kite surfer, which is why it sounds a bit more ridiculous!!!!

Dinghies only tend to make the news when there are dozens involved, I think, as one dinghy isn't much of a scare story. Kitesurfing across the Bristol Channel is quite an adventure! Sounds like the windsurfer ran out of luck, though, which is a bit of a reminder for all of us that watersports have risk - L3000 across the N sea anyone?
