Why use an open 50, wouldn't something a bit tamer be more appropiate considering it's being the youngest that counts, not the fastest, so finishing at all had more importance than finishing fast?

wel he was but if you were 16 and offered an open 60 to be used would you say no i dont want lots of adrenline and danger. Of course sailing around the world brings all of those things but .....

In big waves, I'd rather have a bigger boat like an open 50. And the boat is
as tame as the amount of sail he chooses to have up.
