Not the worst breakage ever but it made for an unpleasant trek back.

Hit the bottom on an asy drop on in my 14 (thank god it wasn't at warp speed seconds before!) and the boat capsized . Righted the boat and started heading upwind but the boat was felt awful and slow. I looked down and say that the hatch cover had popped off because of the force of the impact; the capsize had meant the entire boat with the exception of the front tank was flooded.

We sailed upwind as far as we could, me on the wire and the crew sitting almost on the snout. In the end we had to walk the boat back through the mud and got back freezing cold as it was getting dark

My sister also had a rudder pintel break, managed to sail it rudderless(!) from the wire for a while before the jib sheet snapped. Beached the boat near the road and drove down with the trailer to pick it up and take it back.

As Dan wants pictures

Here a picture of our 3000 the first time we broke it!

Good thing the repairer did an excelent job which is probably better than the construction of the origional boat.

The second time it broke was not pleasent. The shroud pulled though on the other side while on a three sail reach 1/2 a mile out to sea in the middle of February. Dont have any pictures of that due to being far too cold to care.

All I can say is I want be happy if me and Dan manage it again.

Heel of B14 mast sheared off downwind.....     Other than a three piece mast, the boat was fine.    The cast alloy heel fitting was pretty crap quality and had begun to suffer corrosion.  I now renew them when I think they are suspect - cheaper than a mast
