yup you'll go down burning with that suggestion. Its not a Wayfarer... although Im not sure what it is.

There is an old french boat that looks like that but i cant recall the name. Whats the symbol on the sail?

I thought the Wineglass was shorter and wider than the picture.

Too small for a Kestrel or Wineglass (and doesn't have the characteristic Wineglass/505 sectional shape).

Size is nearly right for a Lark, but not with that raked bow, for starters.

Flying Junior is right length, but only 1.50 wide.

Looks like the 'old French boat' is front-runner - they had a string of round-bilge grp boats with number-names based on the length, like '445'; that'd make this the original '400' . And yes,we need to see the sail symbol!

sorry folks but there are no sails with her at present shes sailless and has no identifying marks on her anywhere!

Medway maniac i think you win the prize here as she looks to indeed be a marlin, ive had two other people suggest the marlin after 100 emails and many forum postings. Ive been looking for a picture of the marlin everywhere so am very pleased you sent the links. Have you any more pics of it and where can i get more information on her, also where would i get copy of plans as have to build her foils and would like to get her back to as close to original as possible.

I appreciate all the comments.
