If you go on www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk you can look through the sailing dinghy listings, and look to see if theres anything that suites you

Try a Europe! get the right mast with it and you're away!

I picked mine up for £1500 and it's a worlds standard one with all the gadgets.

I've seen fairly decent ones up for about £700ish

try the class association

Thanks for everyones suggestions.  I have got myself a Byte, well I have just got to go down on Sunday and hand over the cash, but basically its mine.  At the moment it has a standard rig, which I will keep until I get my 'sailing legs' back.  Then in a few months I will probably upgrade to the C2 rig.

Just hope its still there on Sunday and hasn't blown away

Where you find it, ebay or on a site? If only I found this post, we have/had a few at the club up for sale, not CII though.

I have sailed the Byte with the standard rig at a few Open and National levels. The standard rig is good fun, but the CII is a lot quicker, especially in light winds.

Hope you enjoy it.

I got the boat from my sailing club.  I have never sailed the c2 before, but I only heard good stuff about it.  I have sailed my mates standard rig, loved it.  I haven't helmed in 3yrs so I hope the wind dies down alot!

It's best to get the CII brand new. There were a few teething issues with the mast with the first batch from Topper.

Thanks for the advice.  The rig is kind of expensive, okay very expensive - its worth almost three times what I am paying for the boat!  Oh well, now have the money due to selling my RS200  also didnt put this money into current account, or soon there would be none.

yes the price of the rig has gone up a bit    however its still pretty good value for a carbon/glass mast and a fully battened main, they were just a bit of a bargin until recently!

I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!
