Wax

   When a surfboard is waxed you put several coats of wax on to create 

dimples. These are where you get most of the grip, but can take several 

blocks of wax on a good size board.

You wouldn't put that amount of wax on your boat, so it tends not to work 

as well. Good old progrip is a much better bet.

	I use progrip on the racks but you can't put it everywhere - so I use wax too. Its brilliant, grippy, light and easily applied. It does get dirty but there's nothing better looking than a winning boat. It can be easily removed with warmed water and easily re-applied.

	Progrip sticky enough for bare feet? Even so, what about broken toes and bruised ankles. Lots more things on a dinghy to bash yourself on than on a windsurfer.

	DON'T TRAPEZE IN BARE FEET.... extremely painful when you lose your balance, got my toes round the shrouds a few times and a high speed encounter with an old i14 space frame also hurt a great deal - back to boots!
