If "near" is a priority, consider the Welsh Harp. You'd probably have to rethink your class choice though. |

It's 34 miles from you according to the AA, but if you like long blasting reaches, wide expanses and a modest 1 knot or so of tide for spice, you could try Wilsonian SC (www.WilsonianSc.org.uk) on the River Medway, near Hoo (straight down the A2, then dual carriageway till last mile or so). Small club (200 members) but very keen, with 40 boats out in the summer (20 at present), morning and afternoon races. Miracle fleet otherwise handicap for Lasers & 2000's through to Vortices, 4000's, 600, 800's and even an MPS or two... (though the smart folk sail 3k's!) |

I'l certainly back that up! Big expanse of water and lots of other quick boats to play against, wilsonian would be a great choice!

There's a very active fleet of RS700's at Queen Mary. It's the second biggest in the country with 22 boats of all standards. Well worth considering..... Ian |
