I'm coming to the view that the boat is a Blackwater Sprite, as it is too short to be a Brightlingsea or an Emsworth One Design.    Slightly strange it has found its way to Hampshire.

It seems to be in reasonable condition, so probably worth restoring.

Any suggestions on how to find someone who would be interested in restoring it? I could advertise it in the usual places  but that might miss the right audience.  I'll try the CVRDA.

(The Sprite association had a web site but it is down at the moment.)

These things tend to be worth more and appreciated more in their home fleets, so I would try contacting any clubs which sail them, or class association if there is one. I wouldn't take our ID as definite though! I'm sure someone at Blackwater SC would forward an email?

Folks, in my PY database there are thirteen old school style local one designs from the 60s that have 14 in the name. I bet there are at least double that which were in the same sort of size range, and many more that never got as far as published numbers. It looks a bit like an xxx really doesn't cut it: there are so many options. Without some kind of provenance or lucking on someone who is really familiar with the actual class I think the chances of a safe id are not good.

Don't think it's an Emsworth one design
