How useful would this be?

   I had an idea for a gadget that would detect when the boom is about to change sides and sound an alarm to notify the sailor that they need to duck. It obviously would only really be needed for quite new sailors as eventually you get a feel for the way the sail moves but I wanted some opinions on the usefulness of this idea. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, Im new to the forum amd this seemed the most appropriate place.

	Isn't that gadget called "Crew" and is attached to the kicker or boom by extension known as "arm and hand" and notifies helm with a call of "it wants to gybe" and also resists the gybe until helm is ready? That's certainly the situation downwind in our boat!

	Not so easy for the non existant crew in a Pico, though! A little concentration usually does the job after a couple of goes, though.
