Do you have to have more weight to sail and A class?

I would say similar as any kite boat needs a little bit more "Driving" down wind, but you do (usually) wire it downhill.

There is also the Inter 17 to consider !

Is that the Stealth SXL version that you're talking about? There is one at Helensburgh sailing club, sailing single handed, only has a mainsail and a kite and as far as I know, it's a production boat. Maybe its meant to be sailed double-handed but the guy who races it sails her really well single handed.

Yep, that's the boat.  It's not a production boat.  It's a custom job by John of Stealth Marine.  His F18HT hulls with a F16 sized rig on it.

F18HT (now called 18HT) is a 2 up boat (20sqm mainsail and 20sqm kite)

Hi,

The name is 'Tim Swinburn', he's sailed one for a few years now, along with many other cats.

Yep; I've known Tim for a very long time.  We've both been sailing Cats for (cough) about 25 years....
