Tacktick on a Plane

   Has anyone ever had any issues with taking a Tacktick Micro compass on a plane?  Just wondering what it would look like on the security scanner?  Would it be better as hand luggage or in the hold?

	Ahh, that sort of plane! I was scratching my head trying to work out why planning should affect a tacktick - couldn't keep up? Probably at the least best to make sure there was some power in the battery - so it could be turned on if requested.

	Flying out to Garda tomorrow, boat is already out there, compass is in my sailing bag; my concern is that if it is considered to be suspicious, it might get taken off me.

	I'd pull it out of the bag and have it loose with iPads etc.... I fly in and out of Gatwick every week and have taken some really random sh*t through hand luggage. Just make whatever it is really obvious for them and the security appreciate it. If you are a bit concerned, pay the fiver for premium security. You'll get more than a jobsworth grunter working the posh queue.

	My Finn doesn't have any of these chicks you talk of Boots, maybe thats where I'm going wrong. Where do get them from, or are they only available to the under 23's?
