Does anyone have any views on whether the Musto skiff is better than and RS 700.  Of all I've read most seems to be for the Musto Skiff but I saw a 700 sailing a few days ago and it looked a great boat.  Has anyone sailed either of simply got any views on it?

This has been discussed several times before. I suggest you do a search. I think the outcome will be to try both boats for yourself. However if I had to choose it would be the MPS.

They are both great boats but with a slightly different philosophy underlying their design.  Both have highly enthusiastic associations and are loved by their sailors.

Which is better is frankly down to personal preference.

Try both and see which you like.

Musto --700, Musto ---700, Musto ---700     Oh I'm getting Confused again

My call would be the 700 Not because I've sailed but because it looks a more sorted boat (my opinion no one elses!!!!!!!!)

i think it depends of what you have at your club and what your buget is at my club i would get a 700 becaused there are about 4-5 there but at say rutland you would get a mps as they have about 4-5 of them there

but the mps is more money i think

I prefer the MPS just because she seems to be a better designed high performance boat with no compramises. I don't like the fact that RS haven't put a fully battened sail on the 700 and the design seems to be based on a shortened 800 hull. Seen a lot of MPSs race and they seem cracking boats. The MPS seems the way forward which may be reflected with the current trends in the second hand market.
