Hi everyone thanks for letting me on...... I bought this 20 foot double bilge keel sail boat quite some time ago and have lost the contact detail of the man in York that I bought it from, I did not ask the make of it at the time and now regret it as I cannot get it insured unless I get that information. Will try to post some pics.......

Or is it possible someone may recognize the boat and can tell me who made it?

Is there an insignia near the top of the sail, above the large sail numbers?
Is there any sort of code/number/name on or inside the boat? A builders plate? |

Hi, Thanks for the response, I have not looked at the sails yet they are in bags, the boat was in a filthy state when I got it and all my time has been spent cleaning and mending, there is nothing I can find inside or out that tells me what it is but now you have mentioned the sails I will get them out and look at them tomorrow.

It looks like a Vivacity 20.
Lots of pictures on Google to compare and confirm. Or the slightly smaller Alacrity 19 - the sailmark will help.

Thank you so much I am sure you are correct, when I read Vivacity it rang a bell in my memory about the advert I answered to buy it! I would like to get a better copy of the spec etc as the link you provided will not produce a readable copy when I try to print it.
I expect the next question the insurance co will ask is what year was it made??? could you hazard a guess? with regards to "You should get out more" I disagree ! ,your doing a great job there

Im no expert, I just remember one at my old sailing club in the 70s. Another page on that site say they were build from 1960 to 1980, If there is not a builder's plate anywhere, all I can suggest is that you look at adverts for other Vicacity 20s with a similar sail number.
