Here's another odd one for you Rupert. This is I believe Weaver Sailing club near Runcorn. The tiny river, the immediate pastoral scene and heavy industry not far away amused me.

Can see all three ie the gravity defier, the merlin contortionist and the northern Constable on Nexus 7 running Android 4.4.2.

Mags is it too much to hope that you've finally cracked it?

I've driven past that so many times and thought to myself I must google it for curiosity value... never got round to it though.  Cheers for straightening out that head noodle.... 

Now off to find out if 'Gouranga' is a civil engineering company or some kind of greenpeace / animal rights / environmentalist pre-internet graffiti hashtag....

Me too.  It is Weaver Sailing Club. although I have only ever seen anybody sailing there once.  After all why would you?
 
Is Gouranga still on the bridge.  I'be been commuting along the M56 for the past couple of years, but don't recall having seen it this time.  It was definitely there 10 or 11 years ago though.  Perhaps I'm just driving in a daze!!

Checking up their web site it is a combined Sailing and Water Ski club - bet there aren't too many of those!

I often wondered why not, the two sports can be symbiotic particularly inland where they hate even a ripple to ruin their waterskiing and the barefoot boys even more so.

There's the obvious one at Rock in Cornwall plus theres's a local puddle near me at Kingsbury which sails on alternate weekends to the skiers... But yep, not many others I can think of. Personally I can't think the two disciplines have a great deal in common...
