I reckon a windsurfer mast would probably be too short. A cherub mast needs to be about 6500mm. You mentioned before you had some old random carbon bits? What have you got?

guys ive got a wayfarer mast here if its any use to you, they are quite tuff, but itd do to get you going if you are interested. Have you looked at a 470 mast, they are quite light and have trap. terminals.

What age is your cherub?  I had one several years ago, a sixties boat i think, had single trapeze and the boat was assymetric converted, that unfortunatly had to go to the tip, went rotten!!!

I still have the mast, sails etc and think its straight.  Details on the cherub website soon hopefully!

Breeze ON!!

i think if we are going to be changing it, it would be good to try double wire because we can allways get the old mast sorted when we mess round with a grave yard 1 and try out new things with it and not worrying about it breaking!!!

Iain has a 600 rig on suicide.

Lads, why dont you make a mast? Or if its tin, ive found that a 505 mast is ideal. good and strong - already has trapeze, but is a bit lardy! Cant remember what mast I put on 2539 to begin with!

Will all masts support a single trapeze?

All masts that are currently on Cherubs? Yes. All mast period? No. But
most would.
