Hi, to day i sailed an old club Enterprise for the first time, it leaks like a siv and non on the controls are adjustable, it has many other problems with it.      We came second in the club race and it was medium winds.

What I am trying to say is we had it going alright but what is a good weight to sail one from, if I got a cheap one and put some money onto adjustable toe straps and a decent kicker, cuningham and outhal, possibly a center main kit would i cope.       Ps we weighed in at about 20 stone between us.

I sail a laser radial and topper to a quite competitive standard if that helps.

Thanks

Depends if you are sailing on a small lake or the big sea?

erm I sail on a lake but may do a few competitions on the sea crew dependent, it wouldn't be a boat to sail all of the time and race two seriously as that is what my topper and laser are for, just a boat to have fun doing club level racing

The ents at my club are generally sailed by 25stone all up, however I am sure that 20 stone of youthfulness will be just as effective as 25stone of unfit and un-agile people.

I borrowed my Dads ent for the nationals a few years back and we weighed 21 stone and finished in the top half in a week of mixed wind conditions.

the other thing which would really sell one to me is the center main, do you know how class aloud it is and which method is the best way of fitting one

They never used to allow centre main and I don't think they do now. I've certainly never seen a photo of one with anything other than transom main.
Best wishes from deep in the woods

I have never seen one with a centre main, I suggest you look at the class rules to check on the legality.

Center main is a problem on the ent, there's no solid spot to locate the block unless you have a bridle, and that clutters up the cockpit......sheeting off the boom is an option and some in the class have tried it. It is class legal.

Here's some info from the class website:

I seem to recall seeing a shiny new white plastic one with a centre main at the dinghy show.
Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

o I saw that, the new rondar ent     : )        dad says no as it is just a boat to have a play in not to race like my laser
to me the new ent looks very flash but a bit modern and not ent like if you get me, will older boats still be as competitive when that catches on  hmmmm
