Alternatively, really do consider making one yourself. It's not at all hard and very satisfying. You can make it out of insulating foam (used for cold-store floor panels) with a wood stringer, covered in a couple of layers of weave & unis. We made our in the sitting room of our one bed flat (the blue foam went everywhere!) and it is still going strong. Neither of us had any experience making foils before.

Stuart,

You might want to try Gosling Dinghycraft or CPC Boatworks.

I know Kevin (Gosling) makes some amazing light foils, he did a centreboard for a friend of mine that wiehgt practically nothing! (It was balsawood wrapped in carbon apparently).

You might find sneaking round the Scorp class website will get you a few ideas as well. (http://www.sailscorpion.co.uk)

I don't think that Gosling or CPC have a website but I could be wrong (Google will tell for sure).

Regards,

Paul

Yeah its within class rules to do anything you like with your rudder aslong as it doesnt have t foils.

Do you have any contact details for quicksilver foils?

Can some people help me?

Our lifting rudder on the scorpion snapped the other day. We want to replace it with a carbon fixed rudder. But we're struggling to find companies in the uk who build carbon rudders. Does anybody know of some we can try, as we dont have the skills to build our own.

Thanks scorpion 1971
