Sorry bit of a boring one here but what do people do to keep themselves active in the winter months with no sailing going on at their club?
Do you do other sports other than sailing to keep yourself moving?

Looking to do something else but not sure what.

At the gym 3 times a week and I'm on the water every saturday and
sunday
and any other days I have off such as over the christmas hols (weather
permitting of course). It's a bit of a pain launching and landing on my
own
though.

I must confess this is the only winter I've got this hard at it though.

Asides from that, I always walk everywhere such as to work and back
which
is mile each way. It's a mile walk there and back to the gym also.

My bike doesn't get used when it's either wet or cold so no cycling over
the winter!

You could always buy yourself a surf board, a turbo warm wetsuit and
drive to wherever the waves are hitting.

A thirty minute swim three of four times a week at the local swimming baths. Also sail through winter.

I sail as much as I can through the winter but to supplement it I also play Hockey twice a week and hit the gym 2 or 3 times a week.

I'm supposed to be on the rowing machine but at the moment
my only exercise is a 5 Minute walk to the pub and an 8
minute walk back again.

Roll on March.

I sail throughout the winter, but really badly need to either join a Gym or start cucling/jogging again!!!!  As i approach 30 i am finding it hard to keep the weight off!!!! (Understatement of the 2010 so far)  I have really lost what little fitness i had since stopping sailing the 300 and this was apparant at the bloody mary!!  So i am starting jogging as of tonight !!!!!

Ha, wait til you start approaching 50 and see how hard it is to keep weight off! Whatever boat I have sailed over the years I always seem to be on a permanent diet to keep to the ideal weight - probably just ought to get a Phantom now and be done with it.
