Circumnavigation Record Boat Smashed

   The ex 'Earthrace' trimaran powerboat, holder of the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe has been rammed by a Japanese Whaling vessel and is in danger of sinking.

	The whalers have really done themselves no favours there at all. They could have just be peaceful towards the anti-whaling guys, seeing as they had done no harm towards them. I noticed in the report it said that the Japanese boat had accused the other boat of trying to sabotage their nets by trying to entangle them in their propellors. That is such a ridiculous accusation. Anyone whos ever used a boat with an engine will know that even the smallest amount of string caught round a prop will leave you scuppered, so why would they want to do that to themselves in a motorboat. They are just trying to move around the matter that what they are doing is highly illegal and cruel. They should be banged up, then shot. Rant over

	Not that I am defending the whalers at all here but have you seen how incompetent the Sea Shepherd crew are? Watch Whale Wars of Discovery for more....esp the one when the younger lad is in control and rams the whaling boat because he has not got a clue what he is doing. There is more to this than meets the eye and there will ne 2 sides to every story! For the record I am 100% anti-whaling and support what the Sea Shepherd lot are trying to do but not the way they are doing it. Just my 2p as always...

	The video in the report (taken from on board the whaling ship) makes it look like the Ady Gil rammed them. Now watch this video taken from a vantage point on board another Sea Shephead boat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbuq0YEIPNU Its clear that the whaling vessel turned onto a collision course with the Ady Gil on purpose.
