Chaps, can you recommend a decent sat nav for around £100?  I am needing one for her indoors as she goes all over the place for her job.  It has to be small windscreen friendly - we're talking MR2 size here.

I am working on the theory that personal recommendation is better than advertising hype, and for some strange reason I figured you guys would know about such things.
the same, but different...

Go for a tomtom, I've had one for about 4 years with no problem,

Just bought my wife a tomtom one for circa £100, but since buying it have seen some widescreen ones on offer around the same price.

She "manages" to use it, which means it will be simple for most everyone else.

I reckon TomTom is the Nokia of the sat nav world, ie easy to use.

I have a garmin nuvi though as I could get a europe wide one for the same price as a uk only tom tom. The Garmin is easy to use as well but not quite as easy as the tomtom.

I got tom tom classic 1 xl 4.3 inch screen. Excellent to use and very clear. Deffo get the bigger screen ones(4.3 not the 3.8 i think those are the measurements) , i think it makes a lot of difference.

I borrowed my dads Garmin Nuvi a while back and was pretty impressed with it. Never used a Tom Tom but as you can see those who do highly recommend them.

The only thing I will re-inforce is get a wide screen model (the 4.3) as the other screens are just too small and are useless!

My old cheap Navman satnav is fantastic, i have owned it for 3 years now and use it everyday.  its super easy to use, small and with the upgrade its a blue tooth hands free for the blackberry (work won't supply us with hands free)

I have used both Garmin and TomTom. I think the latter is easier to use and I've used it all over Europe with no problems (hasn't taken me down any dead-ends etc.).
