Well ive pretty much come to the end of my 420 sailing career due to being almost out of the youth age bracket. So i am looking for something a little more grown up. Once ive bulked up a bit and am more experienced etc id love a 49er but for now id like a boat that may fill the gap between the 420 and the 49er.

I weigh in at  60kgs and my crew weighs around 70kgs or so and we both have a experience of trapezing etc etc. Boat would be sailed both on an estuary and an inland lake somewhere. Not too sure where yet though! We would definately plan on eventually do some events etc next year too.

I know thats pretty vague but i hope you have help!

Cheers!

You're perfect for a 470 - it's the obvious choice if you ask me.
the same, but different...

Yeah 29er is the obvious choice for filling the gap, if you
havent sailed skiffy type assys it will keep you on your
toes for a while even after the 420. Then its 49er time

Less sensible suggestion: Eat some pies, buy a B14. Don't really need too many pies to reach competitive weight. Yes, you'd be out of trapezing for a bit, but it would get you used to wide wings and big kites.

(also, you are far, far from what is usually meant by "big boys". But then I suppose it is because you are actually boys)

No mention of money. Usually at the "leaving youth fleet" stage, money tends to run out as Bank of Dad stops paying out. If that is the case, go for one of the cheap twin trap options, like a Cherub, an old 14, or even, if you really want to bulk out quick, a 5 tonner.
