i know I've done a what singlehander thingy once but hear me out.

here's the thing.

I'm now in the 29er (as some may have noticed) and so i no longer sail the RS feva thingy with my loyal brother.

Now yes the feva is singlehandable but not really the best thing for that so.

What we need is a single hander thing for my brother to sail but chances are i'll nick it when he's not sailing himself and the 29er is not available.

boats ive been thinking of are:
laser radial (yea they are okay but its a laser think he'd eventually get bored)
Topper (excellent fleet and he loves the social scene but its a topper)
RS 300 (look so cool but too challenging maybe)
RS600 (i so want one of those but i doubt my brother will like it)

so stats
the boat is for 55kg person who wants a bit of a chalenge but likes sailing not swimming (dork!)

wants to have a nice cruse but wants to have a bomb around now and then.

wants something to grow into not out of

wants to be able to sail it on the first day but wants it to keep him ocupied.

erm have fun reading it i know im baffled

A Europe might be worth thinking about.

If you want street cred, get an Oppie! They must be cool if all the kids sail 'em!

Villan, play nicely.  At that weight a Topper would probably be best, although depending on how old/tall he is he may grow out of it. Specially if there's a fleet/scene around where you are, makes sense. Don't know much about the Europe myself though.

Love it, a quality quote from Hannah

As for the original question, 55Kg in a Radial, might be pushing it in a breeze, go for the 4.7 and you could make it grow.

As for the Topper, good call but only you know how old he is and how well he can sail.

Europe is good but the Topper and Laser have more class!

300 and 600 are immediatly out due to weight. depending on age either topper or radial (he will be the right weight after winter). toppers finish at 16 so if he is nearing that go for the laser. both will teach him a lot about fleet sailing in very competative fleets...
