Hmm. While I agree in principle that the helm's place is in the wrong I am not sure that launching yourself onto the trapeze without checking that it is attached can be considered a tiny and trivial change in the boat trim. It is a double handed boat after all!

Hoi. Lucy, I'm ahamed of you. Its *always* the helm's fault - we crews are hardly to blame if the ballast aft does't handle the boat correctly to cope with whatever tiny and trivial change in boat or sail trim we might inadvertently cause for some reason that escaped us just afterwards:-)

I got a book about the 80+ year old lady that crossed the Atlantic, and a book called the shipping forecast, fab gifts!

It's true about the shipping forecast, we can all remember one or two areas but from where did we learn them? nice little read, even found myself wanting to 'tune in' to the forecast again!

Have not started the Atlantic crossing book yet,  a treat for a stormy day!

Oh Yes and the glow in the dark torch that i was given is great! it works!!

Just looked at my Christmas wish list from earlier and I can safely say that Balaclavas are the best! It was freezing on Boxing day on the Exe (www.fotoboat.com for great pics) and we were warm as toast. And it was sunny, and breezy if rather shallow!

We were also lovely and warm at Grafham, but the helm lost his glasses due to some inept trapezing (I am rubbing it in 'cos up till now it's been me making all the mistakes!) so we didn't finish.

It was spookily quiet on the motorway on the way to and from Devon, so all I have to wish for now is for RMW to get a move one with the new boat
