I have reached a dilema! I have been saving up for a moth for nearly 3 years now and finaly have enough spenders to get my hands on a decent one. BUT at the dinghy show I came across the video of the RS600FF and now im stuck. Here are my options: 1. Get a low rider moth, play with that for a year and then put some foils on it. 2.Get a RS600FF. Il throw this one open to the floor, What do you think I should do? thanks I know how difficult it is to sail the moth and thats one of the main attractions, but I can imagen the 600FF is pritty difficult aswell. |

The whole thing about the 600FF is that it is designed for those who would like a moth but are not skinny whippets. So the simple answer to your question is how heavy are you? Above 75-80kg then 600FF, below then moth. On the mark then you have a problem. FWIW I think the moth is a beautiful boat to look at and would make those hours spent in the water righting the thing less of a chore. Cannot imagine that with the 600FF though |

I think foiling on the wire adds another dimension which might prove a bridge too far for some people: you should get some more spectacular/painful crashes, at least! (This comment is based on a season observing Clive Everest and his 300 based foiler at HISC) Let's face it: neither is going to be easy. Where are you? Looks like there could be at least 4 Moths at Hayling this year- there's that many there now! |

What Contender said.
Having sailed the 600 in the past, and now sailing a Foiler Moth, I imagine that the trapezing/foiling combo will be considerably more difficult than mothing... Moths with foils on are actually pretty stable. I shall wait for Sam to prove me wrong! |

I guess it depends on whether you want to have a fleet to race against or not.

alright john how r u mate. i think that may be a bit heavy for the moth and the rs600 is a bloody steep learning curve. to be honest sailing at the ferry ur better getting a musto or somthing like that cause when it is wavy a foiler is bloody hard/ impossiable. or take my option and sail other people boats or free |

Just hopped on the scales and im 75kg exactly, which means I have lost weight, so well chuffed in that recpect, but seems il all good to go for eather Moth or 600. Does anybody have a email address for Sam Pasco (sp?) as I would like to hear his opnion being the only person who has reli sailed a 600FF.

why not go a little bit radical and try the 600 foiling kit on a 300 as they
have the same foils any way and it would be intresting to see if it works |

It's Pascoe, and you would get him at Fullforce as he works there.
