I'm off to visit the Antipodes in Feb/March & have negociated permission to go an bugger about in a boat in Sydney Harbour on Saturday 3rd March or Sunday 4th March

I've looked around on the internet and not found much that can provide what I want to do, so:

Is there anyone in that part of the world who can either

a) point me in the direction of somewhere that will let me borrow/hire a Laser or something

b) spare a day to take me out for a blast around or if there's some racing on let me crew for them. It's one sailing venue I've always wanted to visit and after making the trip across the globe it seems daft not to be able to blag a go in something.

I'm sure some agreement regarding recumpence in the form of food & beer or similar can be reached. Or if anyone is planning a jaunt to the UK I can return the favour.

Ta!

I thought we had sorted you out.

We have sprint races on the Sunday but on the saturday, lets see what we can do.

Bring your gear for a ride on a 12.

Depends if it can clear the magic 24.7 knots Matt!

Will we be seeing you at Hunstanton this year?

fizzicist,

You're in for a treat!!! I am in Sydney on a short business trip and climbed the harbour bridge (http://www.bridgeclimb.com/) with colleagues today. Tough job but someone had to it it what to say.

Anyways, to cut it short, looking at it from 130mt above the water and seeing all the way to the ocean, I can say one thing and one thing alone... SUPER!!! Sydney Harbour has to be one of the nicest places to sail period! Despite being a week day there were tons of boats on the water. Wind was good, scenery awesome.

Enjoy your sail and be grateful to the wonderful people on this forum! Let us know how it goes.

Regards
