Did that in an Enterprise open a few years back. I was giving the helm verbal because the main was not sheeted in only to turn round and see him bobbing gently in the lake about 30 yards back!

mike send them back to RS cos they shouldnt do that.  at aquasports our feva's are 2 years old and are used everyday and the toestraps still havent gone.   also the toestrapes on my 4tonner are like 6 year old and still havent gone even though my helm must be the most agressive hiker ever to set foot in a boat

If your toestraps are "too lose" for you they may twist over on themselves, so they tear themselves only. When you tack you need to tack toestrap to toestrap. There really is no need for webbing toestrap to "wear out".

i have a 2 or 3 year old rs feva we have only had it since last easter and a couple of weekends ago we broke the starboard helm toestraps where they join to the crew toestraps. i got them stitched up with old bouncy aid and wipping twine then the other set broke in a similar place. does anyone have an idea what's causing this and what would you say the life expectancy of toestraps should be?
