	You can download trial versions of Maxsurf which is very good for getting hull lines right and the renderings look really good. Think the site is www.maxsurf.com but if that doesn't work, try google(ing) it. If you are a student go for the academic version as you can't save work on the straight demo version.

	Sounds like a very cool program. that might be a little bit advanced for the Concept boat thing as it doesnt need to be made up.

	I use hullform, www.hullform.com The plusplus was done with it if that's any recommendation. I think at least some Cherubs have been too. There is a free basic version which is good enough for basic design, butthe paid for version has useful extras like plate development (tells you what shape to cut the plywood so it fits the boat when curved into shape).

	www.freeship.org is a fantatsic free ship/boat design programme that is as good as some costing many hundreds or thousands of pounds.

	You can download a fully working trial version of Rhino from here. Any other download options will be highly illegal and I obviously wouldn't encourage it

	I think you can design using any medium eg, pen and paper, photoshop, specialist CAD. You will have to buy / download software as there currently isn't a CAD program in windows!
