Thankyou to everyone who has offered advice.
I am looking at the Wanderers now. I have just come accross an ADVENTURER, seems to be of similar size. Does anyone know anything about these? |

I would second that. I'm sure a second hand one could be found comfortably within budget; |

You can probably find a plastic Mirror round Chichester as they race there (may be in budget?). That could be sailed with one man or four kids, with single sail or use all three. Pretty stable. Light enough to pull up the slipway.

Wanderer is an option. Unsure if you will get one in budget though

Hi Scubajim,
You might find better advice at the Dinghy Cruising Association website, not sure if they have a forum but there's sure to be some one you can contact for advice.

I will ask the usual forum follow up question J How tall\ heavy is your dad? Is he a complete beginner? Where will he be sailing, inland on a small lake, river or costal etc Under 2k will be a second hand. Single or multi sail? |

Hi there.
I am new to this site and was hoping to get some help and advice about a new boat I am after a sailing dinghy for my Dad. It needs to be small and light enough that he can launch and sail it by himself but big enough that he can take my 2 Nieces and another adult from time to time. He isn't interested in racing at all, it will be purely cruising / pottering around in. His criteria are: Not a wooden hull - too much maintenance as stable as humanly possible! budget of up to £2000 I have been looking all day today and I have found these but know nothing about them at all Keyhaven Scow Heyland Lugger Emsworth Lugger I have a lot of experience with Lasers, Toppers and 4-20's but obviously none of these are what he is looking for so any help would be greatly appreciated. |
