I was at Weymouth too, and 4 races was a loooong time out there! It got a bit chillier than I expected too!  Sunday was a bit boring though, much more fun on saturday

I got back from Weymouth on Friday night, very late. In fact I was so tired I was in bed within 5 minutes of arriving home, came down the next morning to find I'd left the kitchen light on, front door open and the car unlocked! good job I've got honest neighbours.

Not a very good experience in Weymouth, a high speed nosedive left me with a broken control rod and forestay and when the mast came down it damaged the wingframe. And I lost my Hawk...

So no Mothing for at least 6 weeks if not more, bye-bye summer!

Great sailing on Saturday, had a brilliant run twin-hiking with the kite, the bow rose about a foot and we took off... was nice and windy, the rudder kept coming up too which made the gusts a little interesting... was in pain on Sunday!

I was also at weymouth- crewing a B.
Had it going quite nicely, just got gybing sorted....
And then the rudder ripped off

Throws up an interesting dilema though- i really enjoyed crewing, and im wondering if i wouldnt be better doing that rather than helming....

I'll probably decide after the Starcross TT...

I was spectating at the athletics trials on Saturday and then doing safety cover at OSC for the Topper Nationwide on Sunday. 200 Toppers......Farmoor looked quite full for once.
the same, but different...

Sat:Laser 4000 at grafham, blowing around 15-20 knts gusting more, so it was full on sailing, had some monster kite runs, i felt like god going downwind at one point as we were going so fast... until a windsurfer just 'drifted' past then almost ran said windsurfer over with the centreboard possibly inches from the top of his mast. all in all a fantastic sail

Sun: rs200 at BLYM 5knts, raced, won got such a lead on the fleet that the 2nd place(rs200) was 5 mins behind and 3rd place(topper) was 15mins behind on the water, and now the boat is all packed up ready for next week.

today(mon): took out a friends vortex and had a ball close to flat wiring at times. learn't that 3 foils pick up more weed than 2 foils...

went out in contender today, nice breeze getting nice and low on the wire.  Then got given an old N12 so started tinkering with that ready for to try and restore it.

It can take longer than you'd think (speaking from past experience of restoring a 12 very part time )
