That comment isn't really fair Graeme, lots of windsurfers leave a lot to be desired if your point is valid, i rarely ever see a windsurfer manage to tack or gybe. Indeed the top windsurfers manage fine as do the top 49er sailors but "most" who sail them can't manage. And if your windsurfer designs are so advanced can you get one of them to build a twin trapeze monohull faster than the 9er for us, then we will believe you. |

Lets not forget it was designed to be the F1 at Olympic level. Its not for your run of the mill club sailors...
This is probably related to the sales volumes and practicality. Don't know what the actual global windsurfing and kitesurf sales vs dinghy sales figures are like but I am sure you will find that the basic rule of economy, demand & supply is at play here....
Can't you read? He is not an Aussie... Don't be sour grapes for sending them there in the first place. They could all still be British you know ;-) |

Are you some kind of nob m8? I really have had enough of u talking out of ur backside. Windsurfers and kiteboards are desinged to do different things. One thing is for certain all though you may see our boats as primitave id like to see a windsurfer survive the rig loads etc my 14 does. Oh and if you are so interested in kitesurfing and windurfing then please concentrate on those sports and leave us alone Alex |

We were making Boards with Nomex core in 1981.
Foils were used in Weymouth by Icarus in 1979. As to BBSC Faithful's Mensa award winning suggestion as to rig loadings on a windsurfer - he doesn't really get it does he? They're free rigs there are no hull loads - doh. Look, it's no good getting all aerated with me, I can't help it if you're being served so badly and like i said its just my opinion.. But the thing that really gets me is all the annoying trivia, those pathetic shroud adjusters no two brands compatible. None carbon sail battens, rope that stretches like elastic, cleats that wear within months and Holt, ffs how is it twenty years later they're still making garbage. I did buy a decent new main sheet block the other day, quite well designed from Ronstan its new, uses spectra rather than a shackle, has quite an innovative auto sequence, but in general stuff like that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.. |

Why are you even talking about windsurfing in a thread about the RS500?
RS500 = a dinghy. Built for fun, speed, and exhilaration. Windsurfer: Built for people too fall off, or air-row. ( Yes, I watched a few minutes of the footage from Athens of everyone pumping their way around the course. ) |

You are a prat, mate is an expression used by people of my generation, to acknowledge people they don’t know like "can I have a pint of lager cheers mate” I wouldn’t want to be your "mate" either and by the sounds of the responses to you on this forum I would say you don’t have many! Finally the Tewkesbury Caravan Club bit is a joke for members of my sailing club (Tewkesbury sailing Club) the chances of you understanding Sarcasim Slim and Feck all |
