Cold at the club today - around 1-2 degrees

Went out in the 5oh in the first race and although it was light winds, we were keeping up with the 3 other 5oh's out today.  Made a minor mistake when we picked up just enough wind to get me out on the wire (I am 16 and a bit stone)  and followed it - we were 100+ meters past the lay line when we thought to check where we were on the lake!!

2nd race we used for drills and training - never a bad thing

Now sitting at home with a sore back, elbow and ankle  Why do I put myself through this

Today was cold, but had a good first race, well good enough for me, came in and packed boat up, didn't fancy racing again.

Not much wind. Cold. Split my hifits before the start. Wind picked up a bit later on, brought the freezing fog with it... Frozen sails are right easy to roll up...

My usual skipper wasn't available - muttered some weak excuse about a uni exam or something  Had a 85 odd kg skipper so we were a bit overweight for the 420 (at like 150kg!!) Fortunately we had 20-25 knots so  the weight wasn't as much of a problem as the fact he hasn't sailed anything smaller than a Flying 15 for some years... blasted down the reaches though

Failure of a shroud quadrant lever led to my first mast destruction in 30 years of sailing. Didn't quite get 30 knots out the Albacore though!

Mean swine of a race officer called off our sunday afternoon club race after only one lap.  30 knots was too windy apparently.  Kept all but one brave RS700 on the beach and the bloke with a moth didn't even get the sail up.  Perfect sailing weather.

A certain well known laser sailor nearly got his RS400 into orbit ... you rarely see wave jumping on a reservoir!

Probably a good job they stopped our fun as out of 4 Javelins on the water, one broke a rudder and one snapped its kicker wire.  Those boats are only really good fun just before they break!

Our instructors course didn't get to sail much either; think they were doing the module called "shore based activities for sessions with too much wind".

I did a racing coach course, was great fun although we had to resort to doing some land based sessions as we couldn't get on the water in the afternoon of the second day

Was windsurfing this weekend. I think i managed to break a toe somehow today. I didn't really notice on the water cos my feet were freezing and i couldn't feel them, when i got in the shower though it hurt like hell. Now its twice normal size and purple and lumpier than normal, and it wont bend. Im sure it will be fine.
