I hope you're not talking about my video. Edit? You have clearly not seen my work before. Editing is way too much like real work. Got a sh*tload of videos, and will post stuff on SA as it comes, and may even outsource a little editing to a friend if I feel up to it. I am a bit of a singlehanding retard, and I had no trouble sailing the boat in anything from 8-18, including a pile of tacks and gybes. I dumped the boat once during a douse by being an idiot, never even got close to capsizing any other time - which is a hell of a lot better than I ever did in a Laser or almost any other dinghy. The boat is ultra stable, as it should be with that hull shape. I am 192 cm, and weigh about 102 kg, and with spray top and PF the boom was no worries. |

do not worry, we will post asap a new video full of manouvres,so you will be
able to learn how to do it and when youll test the boat youll already know what to do but youll have to wait a few days, it is blowing and raining like hell down here,and right now we are having paella. for your info the mast weight is 7.5 kg. even at 120 kg and totally unfit i could tack and jibe up to 20 knots easy, looked a bit like a brick though, we are focusing on sail development at the moment,and testing is going really well ciao luca |

I agree, we shouldn't be under any illusions that prices on imported goods will dop if the pound ever strengthens, it just won't happen. Get used to paying inflated prices on imports or hope we get the Euro! |

Suppliers normally work on bulk orders,i think if you spoke with Mr Harken direct for a 10 cleats and twenty blocks he would refer you to one of his distributors. I have not ordered a new boat lately so wouldnt like to comment on the "deals" available, but as with most things in life, its a supply and demand thing. I should imagine new boats sales are right down at the moment, stock is ageing wave some cash to move another unit and a deal could be had. On newer products this isnt always the case as the demand (sometimes) far outstrips supply.

i'm sure if you spoke to luca nicely he would do you a deal on the D1, same as if you dealt directly with any company and bought all the parts seperately you could beat any business's prices. so your point is pick the right time to buy and you'll get the boat for a really cheap price so if the pound became really strong against the euro you'd then be able to reverse it and say you could get too D1's for the price of a phantom.
