Wraysbury's easy to reach too being near the M25 so no excuses for Holt boat owners!

I missed this, having kept well clear of this thread out of respect for the old boy which say what I tend to like saying, he did do a lot for y'all back in the day, in fact I did know both him and John the son back then, late seventies, I can't remember what they were up to but they were involved in 'board sailing' as the yotties had re christened windsurfing much to us windsurfers none approval.

So what 'plank' are you talking about and seriously if you think I'm coming up there to be ceremoniously strapped to some ducking stool fabricated out of old wooden boat bits....

This really is the only solution

if there's going to be a burning then there's probably more deserving candidates than you old chap, they could start with the GRP horrors inflicted on Mr Holts designs in the 80's and 90's without too many tears being shed I'm sure!

Speaking as a former owner of both...

Will depend very much upon who is on the stick, but if it's blowy the Jacksnipe is in with a shout. Sub-trapezing I reckon the Hornet should take it.

Would love to find out how the Jacksnipe strikes me now.  But of course we are talking about 40-year old boats here.  I doubt that any boat of that age, wear and tear would take our breath away today, whatever the class.  Now, a new, light, f.r.p. Jacksnipe with an up-to-date rig - where can I sign the order form?!

I now have an image in my mind of grmph the nautical Wickerman, strapped to the plank of aholt design funeral pyre.  Should keep me chuckling for days...

So who's going - we're borrowing a GP and need to learn to sail facing backwards (rear sheeted) rather rapidly!

Hope the photographer captures some of Sandy's finer moments of getting tangled up, Pat!

Representing the Classic side of things, Vagabond 61 has recently been restored and will be coming along.
Pictures here of the maiden sail following the 6 months of work:

Pat you can convert to centre on the goddess, laser style with main coming forward along the boom. (hmm maybe I shouldnt have told you that Evil Smile),

There are two vintage N12s without anyone to sail them at the moment. If anyone fancies a potter round the lake in a clinker built N12 please contact me.

Just a couple of days to go now - weather looking a little showery, but warmer than of late, with a nice little breeze to push you all along!
