Personally I prefer this product. LINK

Cheaper better spec
Standard camera thread mount.
LCD Screen
Replaceable lenses
Remote control
Rotating lens ( keeps the horizon where you want it in difficult mounting situations )
I prefer the camera colour rendition

And the suction cup mount is only £25

On my travels I was lucky enough to find the GoPro Hero 2 Outdoors edition being sold at a VERY good price
- so I bought 3 and made myself most unpopular with SWMBO! Also got the video screen backpack @$70!!!!

Used them for the 1st time on the boy's laser; top of mast looking down using the roll-cage clamp, another on the end of the boom, and the 3rd on the bow looking aft. Absolutely brilliant shots, all done at 960 and 48fps so I can get some great slo-mo done.
Most effective (and unusual) shots were with the GoPro attached to the end of a windsurf mast, camera looking sideways. From the end of the jetty, the boy could plane across with cam at water level then lifted up to go over his head. Also shots from underwater at hull etc. Later I used the cam facing forwards on the windsurfer mast, holding it like a lance as I chased him round the lake in a Jaffa. Holding the mast half way down its length damped out all the shakes and I could get right in close for some great angles. Adjusted the amera to look down at about 30deg, and by raising the mast while chasing him I got some "filmed from a helicopter" shots, that worked really well.
Not started editing yet, but will link up the results when finished.
Very happy.

Here is a link to a couple of photos that show how I have attached a lanyard to secure a camera
http://s783.photobucket.com/albums/yy118/LittleMonster1344/

1. Drill a 2mm hole through both flanges
2. Pass a 1.5mm kite line or fishing line and tie a knot between the two flanges
3. cow hitch a longer thicker rope to the fine line so you have something to tie onto the transom, mast, boom etc

Job done..

Looks a nice camera but more expensive isn't it by the time you add in all the bits? Do you have one?

Would you use it naked on a dinghy or do you use one of the cases?

It does look a better option and the LCD would be really useful

The camera itself is not waterproof so has to be used inside the case to keep it water tight.

Hi, I use this to secure the Gopro.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoPro-Aluminum-LANYARD-RING-mount-wakeboard-paddleboard-basejump-ride-hero-/280906861215?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41675a8a9f
All I have to do is attach a lanyard to the camera.
