yes but i meant relative to the rest of the fleet. Its only relatively recently when there has been enough of them about for it to significantly stand out. As with other boats like the phantom it will take a fair few years before enough of the fast, new boats are in the fleet in order to significantly affect the handicap. Either way, handicap racing is never fair, its just a bit of fun at the end of the day!!! Every dog has his day.

I still wouldn't say they are faster, a wooden boat was second at the last worlds for a start... I think there are more of them so they stand out a lot more now, but I think it is more to do with the people sailing them than the boats.

Tom FRP boats are not faster and have a much shorter competitive life.  It just happens that most of the new GP's sold nowerdays are Speed boats, therefore more modern boats out on the circuit.
