.....didn't Paul Young of Rondar take the Halo/Blazetron there earlier this
year for photoshooting. What ever happened to those pix, woulda thought
they would have been worth seeing ....
![]() ![]() Lots more available ! Won't post anymore here but in December when formally 'launched' maybe we'll start a seperate thread. We think a few of you will like this particular option rather a lot..... |

Having read this and your post in the 100 thread, do you have some axe to grind? You seem pretty aggressive for a newie. Doug H |

Love the devoti photo - pretty funny guy that "Jack sparrow". Perhaps the caption should read "looks likes Jack is closer to the pack today". Tool. |

i do not think so...sailing used to be like that, low cost connections
renting a boat and sail.sharing it with others..can be made affordable....it one way of looking at things, some prefer the pain and to be exausted and the many races , i respect that and have done it for years , but at the end of a racing day you do not even remeber which side you choose for the first beat and sometimes to make it even worse you end up after many mark roundings and crossings in the jury room...it is just different, can only say that those who tryed it loved it, and the last triple point race was really making the adrenaline flow.some have to work or study during the week.....and family is not so happy to be sitting for endless hours at the yacht club while we are sailing...it is clearly a different way..and with the present formats dinghy sailing in the world is getting so small that it is worth trying something new and different, we are going to try it out, will keep you posted on development.luca |

well i think luca has the right idea if you live in each country he is talking about then it gives you a chance to join and compete against other d one owners and have a beer and chat about the boat.A master class on how to promote your boat !! Good luck to all the people who buy one i know exactly what he says about just getting out and enjoying sailing up and down thats what i like to but with only 18.88 sq meters to play with rather than the 26 the d one has. |

But Luca, much as I share your ideal, most of us would find it hard to justify travelling to some of the places you mention just for three days of racing. If I want a holiday then I'll build that into the schedule myself. Last year, for example, I went to Canada for the contender worlds. Lots of racing (12 races in all, including the 'warm up' regatta) then another ten days touring Canada. Perfect, but I could only justify the cost of going because there was so much racing to be done.
Isn't there a danger that you're creating a class for playboys with lots of money and not much interest in real sailing? |

thanks norbert, you give me the opportunity to explain further my
vision:sailing has choosen a wrong path , too many races for one event , too many hours on the water , too much stress with juries and yellow flags etc. the reason why i picked up sailing was because i loved the sun and the sea, the wind and the freedom that sailing my laser up and down lake garda was giving me, once out there nothing else mattered to me and only jumping from wave to wave was filling my day, racing brought one other dimension to it, and travelling allowed me to visit the most beatiful places in the world...how to live that again today?? well, with short and few races ,our event are run in three days, the first one ...friday being just for training , in beautiful locations enjoying the friendship of people that share the same passion as well as good glass of redwine at the sailing club after the races . that is why we race with our new format, and i will ask isaf for permission to try this new format and set of rules , and that is why next years international regatta circuit will moove from sanremo to tuscany, to rome , to numana, than to garda as well as valencia, and we will start in england with a few brave ones coming to the queen mary in january......different as it might be the uk is where modern yachting was born, where i learned , everything about sailing thanks to david howlett, tim tavinor and phil morrison, and so it is a pleasure to ejoy a good pint even when outside it is chilly...rodney will take care of the d one uk nationals......and more races in nice places around the world will follow , almost probably one in san fran in the statets after the finn gold cup.......being on the water max three hours a day allows time to sightsee, to make friends and to recover, who will race with us will not need to be ultrafit...and that is why the ultraconfi wings. will not need to be a junglier, for that we made the d one so wide at beam, but will enjoy the acceleration 26 square metres of sail area on a light dinghy can give you.got a bit carried away......for those who managed to read until here ciao luca |
