Hey Rodney! Happy Birthday:-) Thanks for the generous invites for a test sail. I would love to come down on 18/19th but can't for family reasons (actually going to see Coldplay and friends in London - been booked for some time). Like Doug H, I will try to fix up a date for a sail by e-mail later have a good one! |

Rodney i don't mean to sound like I'm having a go but you haven't read my Post again. I have just mentioned that the Italian guys posting on here seems to do the class (the class you are distributor for) No help whatsoever, i would in your situation ask them via the PM function on this forum to kindly stop raising to the bait! After seeing a devotti Finn at my club regatta today i have to admit i am impressed with the build quality and the general overall appearance of the boat and i hope the finished D-0ne matches up. The two only negative things i can see that will limit its success are its looks and price |

could not get pic to move across from an earlier post to show the
"interesting" bend characteristic. I must assume that this is not an issue. But it is there if you look. Andy Edited by andymck |

Looks ae highly subjective though... See enough of them around and it wll seem perfectly normal and most likely in no way ugly... It happens time and time again in any sphere of design: check out the history of car shapes... |

No, like the first time I saw a mast made of cloth and painted with black Valspar (or so it seemed) I thought it looked stupid. Now we turn our noses up at nice shiny aluminium. Oddly enough a friend turned up yesterday with a "nice" Phantom with a white carbon mast. Cool/not cool/will become cool?

Funny we've just had some carbon masts (windsurfing) delivered recently
'finished' in an aluminium look with a high gloss (Helps speed up rigging). Not as nice as a rubbed down pine tree eh tickler?

Now look here GRF I feel that you are abusing me whilst using the wrong premiss. My reputation is for the restoration/bodging of old boats not necessarily wooden boats. In fact the only wooden boat I have been involved in was the Merlin earlier this year which is now sold. I am so much a "man of the modern age" that I was the first person in the north of England to use MDF (but not in boats), so take that! Future insults should revolve around me being more Steptoe than Thomas Sheraton.
I really do like the aluminium on carbon thing its like dishwashers. First they were rare so you had it stuck out on show. Then they became more common so they were integrated with just the controls showing. Then everyone had one so they became fully integrated with hidden controls. Actually that's a bit like a wife too. |
