very difficult to bob someone below surface when their shoulders are also below surface, 50 newton buoyancy aid suits all ?

50 Newton doesn't mean they all have 50 Newtons, oddly. XL BAs do have more buoyancy than small ones. Whether it is enough is down to individual body size, I guess.

Does not matter, you push down, they bob back up with a bit of momentum. Also if the RIB is not too large, you can rock it a bit, so that when Mr Whale is at his highest, the tube is at its lowest. Don't practise with small people, you'll chuck them into the console. |

another option, some sort of air bed, let them float onto it and tow in, similar to spinal board paramedics use.

i know the Beach lifeguards have some sort of 'trailer' for the jet skis or of course there is the pioner Multi with it's landing craft style bow door ... http://www.pionerboats.co.uk/pioner-multi.asp

I have used the Multi in anger, picking up a dozen people from the water. Worked surprisingly well. Not great to drive, though, and needs a big engine for it to move at more than a snail's pace.
With the Jaffa, I'd go with some sort of step, I think. The engine may well be too small to climb. |
