D-one guys, if you are prepared to use any "free" sort of viral marketing perhaps, such as posting on an open forum then you have to expect some people won't like your design/ideas etc and will let you know.

If you post on a predominantly English sailing website, you'd also have to expect the majority to be supportive of RS as that is the popular brand over here which has done quite a lot to support dinghy sailing in the UK. Noone has stopped you from posting on the RS100 development thread.

Despite knowing which is the prettier boat, its the attitude of the D-one guys on this thread which would be enough to put me off buying one.I know exactly where my money would be going if I had that sort of spare cash and wasnt totally happy with my current singlehander (and I wouldnt have to be exchanging it for euros!).

It sort've amazes me frankly how precious some of these RS100 fans are, the slightest hint of criticism and the bleating starts. I for one admire GRF's pontifications with all the seriousness that he expects them to be received.

I guess the difference is that the D-One is the classy boat whilst the RS100 will be the popular one.

As for our Italian friends, cool your ardor guys, the D-1 is a great boat, there's plenty of room for both.

I'm going to write this slowly so you can understand.

Yes I have medals thanks, lots of them.

No I haven't tried the boat yet but I will as soon as it is possible.

'My' Open Bic RS100 hasn't arrived yet, but when it does I'll get you a
video of me sailing it, I'll use my new buttless chap hikers which will have
more style than your italian beach volleys and may even attract your Mr
Berlisconi, I have a cute butt. (If you ignore the hair). I might even put a
daffodil in it, since likely that flower will be in season by the time I get it.

I will sail tomorrow thanks for asking, on the sea, that's a bit of water
that goes on forever and doesn't stop at the Hotel Pier or Malcesni.

Just because you sail an ugly boat, doesn't mean we can't be friends,
friends are there to help, friends don't mind telling you your boat is ugly,
the rudder sucks and you look lame sailing it..

Well, better sailing an "ugly" boat than a vaporware one.

Have you decided about the sail head shape or the committee is still to be
held?

BTW, our Mediterranean is a way bigger than your channel, and Mr
Berlusconi is no less ridiculous than politicians loaning X-rated movies
claiming expenses for them. Cheers
