the wooden version of the MPS, beautiful looking boat Swift Solo? is it

any great International following.

I think that is a self build boat though, which is always going to limit its
appeal.  Not to mention it looks about as easy to sail a taking a 49er out
on your own.

Funny until I saw the comparison figures side by side, I thought

a)What a beautiful boat wish I could get one over here
b)How much easier it must be to sail than a Musto (No going into irons
with the self tacking jib, no massive step out and that huge gap between
standing on the boat or on the racks.)
c)How it should be put into mass production.

Then I noticed the sail area, nobodies going sailing in that in a strong
breeze.. Not at my weight anyhow.

So why is it no-ones made a single handed Cherub?

But called it something sensible like Arc Angel if it has to be something
religious..?

Thing is who is who's mate here?.... I knew I'd seen those graceful lines somewhere before... that's right on a cut and shut Cherub. We've always been ahead of the game... in the ironic retro design game?

So has anyone put their name down for a trial sail in the D 1 ?

Perhaps one of the peeps who trial the 100 might like to give
it a go?

Then we could get a bit of real life stuff into this.

After all, D 1 selling man appears to have made the "martini"
offer. Be rude not to wouldn't it ?

Might appeal to lead-miners down sizing due to the recession then, as well. Even at, say, £12k it would be cheaper than a SB3.

There was a Merlin with a really pimp clear deck with carbon fibres running through it (Fibre Fusion?).  Looked fab.

Then they end up with perhaps not the fastest assy single hander but

the best quality ...

I think you're quite right Rick... doesn't matter if it's €12 or €14k... it
needs to be the highest-possible spec for its category, something that
will appeal to highest level enthusiast only; then maybe in a few years
after the enormous depreciation, coupled with longevity and quality build
reputation, it will make the boat an interesting proposition to club sailors.

I think it could look the nuts done in full clear carbon with absolute top spec everything; the foils on the boat at the dinghy show looked great.

If it was the most OTT spec. dinghy ever built I can see it getting a certain space in the dinghy world ...

I've just read this thread from the beginning again.  Very interesting with the benefit of hindsight!
