Datchet.

Tide has gone out ... A little annoying .. we had to walk the full length of the normal beach, back up, through the carpark, and down a different slipway to get a decent angle on the wind, and make it possible for us to launch.

Only broke the rudder retaining clip .. But it could have been worse! Had a few close calls with the boat trying to ride up onto the concrete ( yes, and trying to break the rudder at the same time by the sound of it )

Only the 1 close call on a capsise .. saved it .. only just. The tip of the mast must have been about 2 ft above the water!

All in all - well worth it!

yh was an awesome day Villan
IF we did go over it was to be you who got wet

todays speeds certainly change my opinion of wooden boats rather a lot.

oh and sorry for the rudder retaining clip... i needed revenge on dave for breaking bits on my boat... HONEST

I went for a jolly troll... Did the first race but not the second... Big clumps of weed all over the place, decent wind, at least some decent gusts, fairly useful wind direction too. Would have been better if I hadn't had to do a 720...
Avoided the collision though.

Stuck at home today. Daughter just recovering from flu while wife is still stricken with it. Conscience got the better of me so I did lots of ironing.
