I drive about 50 minutes to a sea club. There are several (slightly) closer sea clubs but mine has the class I want to sail and by far the best sailing water and facilities. There is a pond club 10 minutes away but 100 yard legs don't really do it for me these days.

I can walk to mine in ten mins or five mins on the bike but in the crazy summer months when we have loads of dfl,s down it can take up to twenty mins by car not good when you have some extra stuff to take down and i am only half a mile away from the beach

Cool, thanks guys. So, although the sample size is tiny, do you think it seems that people in general dont/wont travel that far to their prefered club. If you sail inland you might generally (with the odd exception) go for the nearest club to you which may be down to not having many to choose from, but if you live on the coast where there is plenty of choice you can be a bit more choosy and might drive past one to get to another.

Interesting stuff! I travel about 11miles to my club. There are two clubs nearer but they are considerably smaller water wise.

Less than a mile to one, about 250 to the other - guess which I sail most at!

A foiling Pico obviously......surely not a real Pico? Wink

A real Pico, but I have tried this :

Lots of area ( 10.5mē ) but not much power. Works on windsurfers, but they get more apparent wind.

It hasn't been great recently you're right, but then I don't have winged foils to protect. Having said that, I'm also prepared to travel to Wemouth a few times a year to get some sea practice in.
