They haven't I just thought they were light when I helped someone lift one off its trailer, then I started making comparisons with the Icon... the rest is written above, you'll have to lift that pudgy finger out of the pie dish and onto the keyboard, scroll back and read for yourself.

It's cost them more than one sale. Which is why someone should be sued. Or there should be an alternate system less likely to be swayed either for someone's commercial gain or petty minded class protection or what other dumb ass reason they screwed with that boats immediate future.

I have an even more bizarre intrigue filled conspiracy suspicion with commercial over tones, that could be responsible, either way, it shouldn't be permitted to be manipulated, what about the early adopters how do they come out of this.

The thing that surprised me most was that what 30 yrs later they go and build it heavier, I'm going to have another closer look at a Tasar, who sells them these days are they available as a new build?

People are funny things, as my late father used to say, 'One mans fish is another man's poission' Personally I have competed in a Nationals but I have attended many with others. I have never been happier or met nicer people.

A young girl (25) that I am friends with said the other week that she was ,'Default happy', what a great expression, default happy. I think GRF is 'default suspicious'.....takes all sorts.....

Hang on, what tosh!
If you were "timed out" it was because, at the rate you were going, we'd might have got in two races in the day, certainly not 4. Why would an OOD keep over 40 boats hanging around in a F5 for longer than their race took on the premise that one back-marker, you, might finally finish. He was only applying the standard and pre-published SIs; they applied to everyone and have been the same for years before and since. No one was picking on you or being unfair.

Secondly, I think we waited until after 8 to go for that curry, perhaps we were hoping you might finally make it ashore?
and then, to everyone's admiration and gratitude, you sponsored a meal, at which the only non-attendee was you, the host, a bit like the groom ducking out of a wedding, which everyone felt was a genuine shame. The most commonly uttered phase that evening was a concerned "where's grumph?"
I'd have thought the lesson for you should not be to avoid Nationals but that bragging beforehand about how you are going to drub everyone is making yourself a hostage to fortune and a comeuppance.
And as for 'trying to learn something' you'd had your boat for months. Many of us had only collected the things a week or two beforehand. Ignoring RS jockeys, there were only 3 owners with sail numbers earlier than yours, one of which was knee-wrecker himself.
It was a pretty hard and harsh weekend's sailing for sure and several, me included, reached the point of deciding enough was enough. But as an event it was epic rather than a horror show.

And there writ large exactly the reason the sport is dwindling and events are getting fewer respondents, even when you tell them where they're going wrong they argue with you.. ffs you should write a book.. oh wait a minute

Exactly. Perhaps you should ask your club for an exception based on the boat. And the reality is, the Icon py will probably settle at 1000 or less.

The lesson here is, early on, just let Joe average club sailors race new design boats in the club py series.
