£1400 starting bid for that Wildfire on Ebay - don't think they stand much chance of getting that. A Wildfire was one of the first boats I sailed at Lossiemouth in Scotland all those years ago. |

There is a Wildfire sailing regularly at Bough Beech but it has an old ISO mainsail. It is winning the Icicle series at present: http://www.boughbeechsc.org.uk/uploads/eventdocs/icicleconve ntional100110.pdfIsnt the lead shot in the ebay Wildfire worth quite a bit as scrap? |

Expensive (very) from $25000, narrow, 4 ft 3ins, trapeze, asymmetric kite for that apparent wind sailing, and with a Rotating semi-unstayed tapered carbon wingmast !
What's a Rotating semi-unstayed tapered carbon wingmast when it's at home!

RAF brat indeed........ No my father was the headmaster of the local school so I lived there all of my secondary school and university years. Was born in Scotland and lived there until I moved to the deep south. The Wildfire belonged to a friend of mine who bought it from the local Outward Bound centre at Burghead. Now I must have been sailing that boat in the late seventies so about 30+ years ago. |
