Nice photo but doesn't inspire me to want to sail one - action needed.

Like the shot of Kit, but agree there are better out there. So I reckon that for the Dinghy show guide cover, the Laser shot is best as it depicts action, fun and enthusiasm - all in the most accessible boat imaginable. It is after all a show that aims to attract new blood into the sport - and that's the best photo for that purpose.

Action dinghy shots are two a penny unless they are exceptional, the short listed pics are OK but not exceptional. Action shots are all I ever seem to see, there's a whole lot more to sailing (and the dinghy show) than experts sailing difficult boats flat out,... As for the show mag, the whole cover format seems "blocky" and not very well integrated IMO.

 

.....anyway the chat on the beach afterwards quite often has more action in it than the actual sail

i think most cat sailors cant be arsed to send in their photos as there is no way dinghy sailors would vote for them.

thats why i dont send mine in anyway.

I'm sure they would. A good photo is a good photo, and I'm sure most sailors don't mind at least looking at them!

When I windsurf, Kitesurfers are t**sers, when I'm kitesurfing Windsurfers
are a pain in the neck, when I'm in the dinghy windsurfers on the start
line should be shot! It doesn't mean anything ffs they're all folk enjoying
the water and very often switch sports, don't take that sort of banter
seriously.

Except of course GP14 and Cherub Sailors, they're always t**sers..
And Cat sailors could all benefit by zyclon b in the showers.

You and others may think it's a joke but I suspect that most Cat sailors don't agree, particularly now that partisan decisions seem to be being made at Olympic level.

.........anyway jokes are supposed to make people laugh

it might be true most of the comments are meant to be a joke but some mono sailors do have strong anti cat views, not really sure why. i have sailed cats and dinghys and tend to sail what the best sailors at my club sail. i might not win but at least i race against the better sailors.

the point i was trying (badly) to make is that with the olympic thing etc, cat sailors cant be bothered anymore they will continue to enjoy their sport and if others dont like it tough.

prehaps not a good attitude i know but what else can you do
