if your foiling the wand hits a wave it kicks up I guess, but it was making them mine on Saturday.

Thats the problem i think... the wand doesn't 'understand' waves therefore the foils will be all over the place.

For example, the wand could be at the top of a wave fully up whilst your still coming down the previous wave already up foiling fully, couldn't you just leap out for the water? or is it there a clever weight calculation so things like this doesn't happen?

The wand is flexible so it absorbs small changes in water height as it flexes before it transmits to the foil.... a really flexible wand will absorb quite serious chop  at the expence of vauge feedback... a stiffer wand will give more precise feedback but as a result will react to each and every wave which im guessing isnt very comfortable.

I don't remember seeing anyone bounce as you described, tho it sounds fun...

Wave sailing is getting better all the time with improvements in control systems - sailing in a chop isn't that bad.
