A bit early I know, but I'm going to France for a week tomorrow morning and won't have Internet access for a WHOLE WEEK! I wonder how I'm going to survive...

Just to wish you all a

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008

May all your wishes come true.

May you win races without even trying,

may your boats never leak,

may you never hear an ominous crunch after a capsize, what the heck, may you never capsize unless deliberately for teaching purposes,

may the wind be just as you like it all year round even if you're a total beginner who's happy in a force Nought next to a gung-ho in a force 7 with waves that high going the wrong way (unpleasant),

may your wetsuit never rip in an embarrassing place when trying to impress members of the opposite sex,

may your spinnaker never get caught on anything even if you rigged it in the throes of a hangover,

may your mum never embarrass you at the sailing club (your patch) with revolting stories of smelly sailing gear,

may your wife never embarrass you at the sailing club (your patch) with revolting stories of smelly sailing gear,

may your children never embarrass you at the sailing club (your patch) with revolting stories of smelly sailing gear, really, don't invite the family to come to the club, simpler,

may your crew never let you down and may your helm never shout,

may the beach get firmer and less steep and make the boats easier to pull (Lancing SC special wish),

finally for Turnturtle, may Mrs TT and you have all the happiness you deserve with the new arrival in 2008. Remember that new mothers are fiercely protective of their offspring in the first few days, months, sometimes years and that they are formidably reluctant at letting you take TT Jr for a quick spin on the Musto before s/he's weaned. No point trying, you're going to have to wait until the age of two, if I trust my own experience.

Have a good one, loveya everyone!
