I assume you never walk on the roads when you're out in the sticks then?  The queens highway isn't just for cars.
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer.

You know what would be handy for us newcomers to dinghyforumworld.

A thread like the one we had on Boards forum giving names and ages, thats
not relevant here, but one that just said name (age) boat type and home
club. I realise with a bit of digging you can eventually weed out who sails
what, but unless I'm missing something, its not obvious what "type" of sailor
y'all are (coastal, estuary, inland).

But a one liner who what & where thread would be handy

If my memory serves me at all.... there was such a thread posted by Ellie or somthing like that. But records are only kept for so long, servers costing as they do now.

The wonder that is the Yand Ything forum is somewhat unique because threads go off topic........... don't knock it, enjoy it.

i think in the thread started by ellie we were trying to get people to put this info in their profiles.

and dont try to make a 1 liner thread on this forum, just look at the story game thread for examples of how bad certain peoples counting is.

So, and here's another thing, i don't know the "etiquette" of this forum,
I've only just shown up, where should it be?

It probably would be better in the profile, but would folk go to that
length.

And too much info is just lame, like the halfwits on the Flexiforum site
that have this stupid "In the bag" where they detail every bit of kite kit
they own, as if it matters.

What matters to newbies like me, is good advice from folk with
experience of whatever predicament your faced with.

Age of the info donor is also relevant, youth can often cloak a world of
competance in false data.

This thread probably says most of what you're thinking, Graemef:
